In North Kazakhstan region, 20% of samples from food products and consumer goods do not meet sanitary standards

In the North Kazakhstan region branch, over 7 months of 2019, 2,757 samples were examined and 15,965 studies were carried out as part of product safety control.

Of the total volume of samples studied, 573 (20.8%) do not meet sanitary standards. Of the 573 non-compliant samples, 352 were for food products and 221 for non-food products.

Of 15,965 studies, 620 studies identified labeling and laboratory abnormalities. Laboratory tests revealed: mold, acidity, chicken, pig, beef DNA not indicated in the product labeling. Also, the employees of the branch discovered metacercariae of opisthorchis, bacterial Salmonella bacilli, trans isomers of fatty acids, sodium benzoate, nitrite, formaldehyde, phenol, methanol, methyl alcohol, chloramphenicol, iron, zinc, etc.

According to the data provided by the department of reception and sampling, during the examination of food products, 10,219 studies were carried out and 1,754 samples of food products were taken, of which 352 samples did not meet the standards. The study covered dairy products, meat and fish products, poultry, cereals, confectionery and bakery products.

From the non-food group of goods, the control covers children's toys, clothing, perfumes, automobile coolant, household chemicals, etc. 1,003 samples were examined and 5,746 studies were carried out, of which 221 samples did not meet the established requirements.

The Reception and Sampling Department receives samples and issues test reports. All received samples are registered, identified and transferred to testing laboratories for research. The department calculates the cost of services. After completing the research and receiving the results, the department draws up a general test report and issues it to the customer.

In addition, employees of the sampling and sampling department provide consultations on research indicators, the procedure for conducting sample research, and other information related to laboratory testing.
