Food and toys that do not comply with labeling were identified by the NCE

During the first half of 2020, 434 samples of food products and 120 samples of children's toys were delivered to the Almaty branch of the National Center of Expertise of the KKKBTU Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for examination. All samples were purchased as part of monitoring the quality of consumer goods by the Department of Quality Control and Safety of Goods and Services in Almaty, KKBTU Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  

As a result of laboratory tests, NCE specialists identified labeling violations in 219 food product samples. The products do not indicate the composition, expiration date, manufacturer or information about storage conditions. The largest number of non-conforming samples was found in confectionery and bakery products - 43: candies "Monetki", candies "Bayan-Sulu", sponge cake "World of Cupcakes", "Mummy's cake", cake "Anthill", vanilla cake "Dalmatovo", French puff pastry “Assorted” buns, Belevskaya marshmallow with blueberries, baklava confectionery “Samelle”, gingerbread, oatmeal cookies, cupcake with peanuts, honey cake “Bal Shyryn”, kozinaki “Timosha”, chocolate-flavored syrup, chewing gum, chewing candies “Love is” ", berry muesli "Crunchy", honey, sugar. These products were produced in Kazakhstan, Russia, France and Turkey.

In 33 samples of fruit and vegetable products, violations of labeling requirements were found: “Olevi” raspberry jam, sauerkraut with mushrooms, pickled capsicum, natural lecho, “Lazjan” hot seasoning, “Tkemali ODA” sauce, “Baruto” pickled ginger, dates, creamy horseradish “Kuhne”, potato dumplings “La Molisana”, canned olives with pits, peeled whole tomatoes “Pelati”, strawberry jam “Olevi”, frozen vegetables, coconut cream “Aroy-D”, pepper sauce “JAN SIFU”, dates “Mash-Mash”, “Elite dates”, tomato barbecue sauce with smoked pepper “Kuhne Smoked pepper BBQ”. Producing countries: Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Iran, Italy, Germany, Thailand.

The monitoring results showed that 25 non-compliant samples were for canned fish: sprat pate and hot-smoked herring “Sea Power”, sprats from Baltic sprat (carcasses) in oil “Shturval”, sprats in oil “Shturval”, sprat in tomato sauce Baltic “Shturval”, herring fillet in oil, sprats in Baltic sprat oil, sea kale salad “Dobroflot”. Producing countries of these products: Russia, Kazakhstan.

Labeling violations were also found in the following products:

In addition, inconsistencies in labeling were found in 112 toy samples.   

Very often, the consumer is not able to find out the name of the toy, country of origin, place of manufacture, importer, purpose, composition of material, date of manufacture. There is no marking in the state and Russian languages.

Based on identified inconsistencies with the requirements of technical regulations, the Department of Quality Control and Safety of Goods and Services in Almaty issued orders to all individual entrepreneurs to eliminate violations of the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population.
